So, before you say it, let me say it: I play in Surrogate, so I guess it’s kind of a dick move to pick myself as band of the day, but I’m kind of a dick. And besides, I just play bass so it’s not like I really do a whole lot anyway. That’s like getting pissed at the busboy for saying the restaurant he works at is the best restaurant in town. Actually, he would probably know better than anybody. Operating under that mindset, I can promise you that Surrogate might not be the best band in town, but we’re at least the best band in town today. And maybe tomorrow. Anyway, the song below is “Pearls,” the first song off the Diamonds and Pearls EP that was supposed to come out today on iTunes and Amazon and all that jazz, but instead probably won’t actually be online till Monday. However, we are still playing our CD release show tonight in Chico, CA, so at least so far as the few thousand people who come out to the show are concerned, the album definitely came out today.
