Walt Disney realized, many years ago, that it is indeed a small world after all. And that was BEFORE the internet. Now, the world feels like the inside of elevator, where like it or not, you’re gonna get real familiar with everyone else because, well, there they are. Fortunately, we not only like it, we love it. Maybe we’re just people people, but this weekend when, via our exceptional data mining skills we discovered a shout-out to TruckerDeluxe on the website of Dassel’s Petroleum, who were once upon a time the proud owners of the Kenworth Semi-Truck door that now functions as one of the doors to our dressing rooms, we were pretty pumped:
We received a picture text from a good friend of a Dassel’s Kenworth propane transport truck door that had been re-purposed to be used as a dressing room door at the TruckerDeluxe men’s clothing store in Chico, CA. This was really fun for us to find, we think TruckerDeluxe has an awesome sense of style and brilliant use of creativity & sustainability.
You hear that “You guys are a fraud! You have NOTHING to do with the Trucking industry” Facebook haters? Even people who operate trucks for a living think we have an awesome sense of style. If that’s a fraud, then baby, I don’t want to be whatever the opposite of a fraud would be. Thanks to Dassel’s for the shout out. Despite being something of a solitary dot of pavement in the otherwise rural expanse of rice fields and walnut orchards that is Nothern California, Chico, CA is the birthplace to many of the world’s greatest things. Besides, of course, the world’s greatest men’s clothing website, TruckerDeluxe, and the world’s greatest women’s clothing website, Lulu’s, Chico has also spawned the world’s greatest beer, Sierra Nevada, the world’s greatest NFL quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and now, the world’s greatest Christmas and Hannukah rock band, The Yule Logs.
The Yule Logs have been dominating the Northern California holiday season for a few years now, but they have only recently set their sites on the entire Judeo-Christian world. Their new album, Walked With a Reindeer is probably the greatest Christmas album since Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas. Legendary NFL linebacker Junior Seau is in the hospital after driving his Cadillac SUV off a cliff near San Diego yesterday. The accident came only hours after Seau was released from jail on charges he beat up his 25-year old girlfriend. Just goes to prove that rich people hate their lives just as much as regular people. Or at least that’s what I like to think when I read about stuff like this. If you can’t use someone else’s misfortune to make yourself feel better, what are you doing on the internet. Sometimes you look at a website like ours and wonder, what is everyone else buying? Alright, you can be honest, the first thing you probably wonder is “how did these guys get such impeccable taste and razor sharp style?” We were born with it baby (actually, we used to be the guys in No Fear shirts and stone washed Levi’s in size “husky,” but we figured it out…eventually).
