This past Saturday’s UFC 139 undercard match between our friend Wanderlei Silva and fellow MMA elder statesman (and actor) Cung Le was widely predicted to be the swan song loss for the aging Silva, whose previous bout was an almost comically short defeat at the hands of Chris Leben by knockout 27 seconds into the first round. Instead, Silva showed more than a few glimpses of the power and poise that has made him one of the most popular MMA fighters of all-time in his second round TKO of a bloodied Cung Le. In typical War Wand fashion, Silva couldn’t help but crack a few jokes at Le’s expense in the post-fight interview, telling MMA Heat’s Karen Bryant that he did Le a “favor” by breaking his nose, making the actor, who is set to play the leading role in the upcoming Dragon Eyes also starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, look like a “real” fighter. Video and pics of Le’s nose after the jump: [click to continue…]
As proud sponsors of Wanderlei Silva’s WAND Fight Team, we’ve had the good fortune to sponsor some amazing fighters over the last few years, but Vitor Vianna is shaping up to be one of the best. Check this video of his recent victory over Bryan Baker in last weekend’s Bellator 54 and you’ll see what we mean. Word to Vitor for repping TruckerDeluxe.com on his trunks and we’ll definitely be pulling for him when he fights for the middleweight championship November 19th!
If you think American kids are tough because they play Pop Warner Football, check out this video of 8-year-old English boys in Preston throwing down in a full-on professional MMA cage match in front of cheering crowds, and broadcast live on the internet. Of course, if this was a REAL MMA match there’d be XYIENCE logos posted everywhere. Remember when kids just beat the shit out of each other in the privacy of the school bike racks? THOSE WERE THE DAYS. I’m calling it right now: in 10 years MMA will be a high school sport.
As proud sponsors of UFC legend Wanderlei Silva’s WAND Fight Team, we root for our fighters win, lose or draw. Of course we always like it when they win, which it seems like they usually do. The latest WAND fighter to come out on top is Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Vitor Vianna, who fought Sam Alvey at last weekend’s Bellator 50 Championships and came away with a 3-round decision. Congrats Vitor! His next fight is slated for October 15th in Atlantic City for Bellator 54. We’ll be watching.
WAND Fight Team’s Jorge Lopez is making some noise in the MMA undergroud, tearing through opponents and looking damn good in the process. As a proud sponsor of Lopez and the WAND Fight Team we always like seeing our boys come home victorious and like it even more when they drop our name in the post-fight interview! Word to Jorge Lopez; see you in the UFC soon!
Though the main event in this weekend’s UFC 133 is Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz, most fight fans are equally as stoked about the Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Vitor Belfort undercard bout, including, of course, Belfort’s sponsor RVCA, who is generating the obligatory limited edition walkout gear for the fight, including the Belfort 133 Walkout tee, above. Look for this shirt on TruckerDeluxe.com in the coming days, but in the meantime, you can check out our other MMA-related RVCA apparel, including the Vitor Belfort Fight Trunks (below) at TruckerDeluxe.com.
UFC Champ and Form Athletics Clothing endorsee Jon “Bones” Jones takes a shot at former champ Rampage Jackson with his new “No Motorboating” PSA video, above. The video is in reference to an interview last week (which you can check out below) in which Jackson pretended to motorboat female reporter Karyn Bryant, who for her part seemed pretty much unfazed. Regardess, newly minted champ Jones pulls no punches in chastising the veteran Jackson, who might not be too partial to being called “son” by a dude 10 years his junior. Doubtless there will be more videos forthcoming, on both sides. In the mean time, check out our selection of official Jon “Bones” Jones Form Athletics MMA gear on TruckerDeluxe.com.
As proud sponsors of UFC legend Wanderlei Silva’s Las Vegas-based WAND Fight Team, we stand behind them win or lose, but we always like it when they win. Which they usually do. Makes it pretty easy! This time around, it was MMA and Muay Thai expert Jorge Lopez defeating the curiously-monikered Waachiim Spiritwolf by unanimous decision at last weekend’s Tachi Palace Fights 9. Thanks to Jorge for repping TruckerDeluxe and congrats on the victory!
