Skrillex used to be known around here as “that guy with the crazy robot music” that the kids in the store listened to all day. But it seems like both Skrillex and dubstep, the variety of chopped and screwed electro music he helped popularize, are quickly segueing into the mainstream. And not only does he seem to be popping up everywhere these days, but every time he does, it seems like he’s wearing one of our favorite brands. Robot music or not, dude certainly has some style, and that style was in full effect at last night’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, where Skrillex took home a couple trophies for his trouble, and repped a few more of our favorite brands with his Sabre Sunglasses, his Wesc jacket, a pair of Creative Recreation shoes and his trademark Falling Whistles necklace.

Creative Recreation doesn’t horse around when it comes to pumping out new colorways of their most popular styles, and we’ve got three new editions of one of their most popular shoe, the Cesario Lo for Summer 2011. The Cesario Lo White Stripe (above) features a white leather/perforated/suede upper with stripe details for a clean, tennis court appropriate look. The Cesario Lo Jersey Blue (below) rocks a smooth leather/cotton jersey upper with a gold striped interior, while the Navy Ripstop Cesarios (bottom) keep it tonal with a smooth leather/Nylon ripstop upper. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Check out the full range of Creative Rec styles and colors at TruckerDeluxe.com.
Though they’ve been coming through with some dope new styles, as well as revisiting some past favorites, in our esteemed opinion, Creative Recreation can’t do much better than the Cesario and it’s low-profile counterpart, the Cesario Lo. This shoe has been a classic for years, and with the advent of Creative Recreation’s XVI series of shoes which boils the Cesarios down to the basic essentials with a vulcanzied sole for a cleaner, not to mention more affordable shoe, the Cesario’s dominance was cemented. For summer 2011, Creative Rec has a bunch of fresh colorways of the Cesario, including the Black Carbon Cesario XVI (above), and the black on black Cesario Lo XVI (below) and that’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as our selection of Creative Recs for summer, coming soon to a TruckerDeluxe.com near you.
Got our first little taste of Spring 2011 Creative Recreation online today and as expected, they look dope, especially the return of the Kaplan V in a delicious and California-friendly mesh/canvas upper, currently available on TruckerDeluxe.com in both black and white (above). Also new in the store today, four new colorways of our personal favorite Creative Rec style, the Ceasrio Lo, inlcuding Smoke Ripstop, Black Carbon, Military Canvas Brown and Eggplant (below). Check out our full selection of Creative Recreation shoes on TruckerDeluxe.com here and stay tuned for more Spring 2011 dopeness coming soon to a computer screen near you!
Though this year’s Super Bowl was one of the better game’s in recent memory, the halftime was possibly one of the worst of all-time. Even if you like the Black Eyed Peas, which hopefully you don’t, you have to admit: their performance was pretty piss poor. Even cameos by Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Slash and the somewhat more palatable Usher couldn’t save the day. However, what the halftime show may have lacked in quality music, it made up for in quality footwear. Alright, “made up for” is probably an overstatement, but there were some dope kicks involved for sure, not the least of which were Slash’s custom, one-off snakeskin and leather Supra Skytops. Probably not a shoe that you’d want to skate in, but who needs to skate when you’re Slash? And though you these shoes weren’t made for retail sale, you can check out a full line of equally badass Supra Skytops of various makes, models and material on TruckerDeluxe.com here. Also spotted: Usher’s dancer dudes in all-white Creative Recreation Cesarios.
You can definitely cop some all white Cesario Lo’s on TruckerDeluxe, along with a ton of other different colorways and materials. Being able to dance like those dudes, however, is up to you. But at least you can look like you can dance. Which is something.
Creative Recreation has released their 2011 Spring/Summer campaign lookbook and as usual, their designs are definitely on point. Along with all the usual suspects, like our personal favorites the Cesario Lo, there are some fresh new style, including the boat shoe-inpsired Luchese, above, and the return of an old favorite, the mesh Kaplan (below). We’ll be getting in our Spring Creative Recs any day now so keep your eyes peeled and your feet prepared.
