In the 5 years since seminal punk band Hot Water Music officially called it quits, former frontman Chuck Ragan has been re-inventing himself as a folk rock singer-songwriter. Recently, he’s worked with Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon on some collaborations, including this recent appearance on German late-night show neoParadise, which features Ragan in a Brixton Hooligan hat, one of our most popular Brixton hats. Everywhere you look these days, it seems like dudes in the know are sporting Brixton hats, especially the always dope (and my personal hat of choice) the Brixton Castor Straw Fedora. A couple weeks back it was Lil’ Wayne in the Tan Castor for the MTV VMAs, and last night, it was Dylan McDermott in the premier of FX’s new series American Horror Story, rocking the Black Castor. Any show that features demons, masturbating housekeepers in french maid outfits and a major character with down syndrome is already cool in our book, but when you throw the Brixton Castor in the mix, I think we’ve got a hit on our hands. American Horror Story airs every Wednesday on FX, so get that DVR going. If you’re not too afraid.
