25 years ago, the movie Rad came out, and suburban kids everywhere wished that they had awesome BMX bikes instead of the shitty Schwinns that their parents bought for them. One of those kids is now a Seattle-based filmmaker named Marc Dewey, who is currently trying to put together a retrospective documentary about how rad Rad was to present at the 25th anniversary celebration this summer in Alberta, Canada (if you’re wondering whether people actually do care enough about some obscure ’80s teen movie to have an “anniversary celebration” for it, trust me, they do). He’s set up a webstore and posted the clip above in the hopes of raising funds for his project, and is also looking for people who might want to help out on the movie. Did Rad change your life? Holler atcher boy! Also maybe now they’ll put that shit out on DVD. The kids need to know!
