If there’s two things that don’t mix, it’s brushing your teeth and then drinking orange juice. But following a close second on that list would be amateur MMA cage-fighters and psychedelic mushroom tea. Mix the two, and next thing you know dudes are getting their hearts cut out of their chests while they’re still alive. According to a friend, Jarrod Wyatt, a MMA fighter out of rural Del Norte County in the Klamath River region of Northern California, had drank some sort of “mushroom tea” and had started acting a little strange. After leaving Wyatt alone with another man, 21-year-old Taylor Powell, the friend returned to find Wyatt naked and covered in blood at which time he, I’m sure somewhat quickly, called the cops:
A deputy arrived at the residence and reportedly saw Wyatt on the couch with Powell’s body, which was covered in blood and had most of its face removed. A large incision in the chest could be seen, and other unspecified body parts had been removed. An eyeball was resting in the middle of the room, according to the statement. Wyatt allegedly told the deputy that he’d cut Powell’s heart out and thrown it into the fire.
Powell’s death certificate reads that he died from having his heart removed while he was still alive, causing him to bleed to death. It also lists as significant blunt force trauma to the head and neck, and compression of the neck.
The worst part about this story however is that Wyatt totally stole my haircut. Don’t give the flop hawk a bad name bro! Stop cutting out your friends’ eyeballs!
